1 John 3:7-10

7 ¹Little children, make sure no one ²deceives you; ³the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous;

8 the one who practices sin is ⁴of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. ⁵The Son of God ⁶appeared for this purpose, ⁷to destroy the works of the devil.

9 No * one who is ⁸born of God ⁹practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot * sin, because he is born of God.

10 By this the ¹⁰children of God and the ¹¹children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who ¹²does not love his ¹³brother.
